Estimator:

Determine the overall costs of a new or existing construction project. Create estimates with all the needed materials, labor, & equipment.  Must be proficient in excel and word. Communicate with existing and potential clients.

Laborers:

  • Operate and care for construction equipment and machines.
  • Help equipment operators and other skilled labor when necessary.
  • Prep construction sites by cleaning obstacles and hazards
  • Load or unload construction materials.
  • Remove, fill, or compact earth.
  • Follow instructions from supervisors.
  • Ready to learn from on-the-job training when necessary.
  • Perform site clean-up.

Diesel Mechanic: 

Ace Hydroseeding, Inc. is currently in search of an experienced diesel mechanic to maintain our fleet of trucks and equipment as well as manage our mechanic’s shop and our current staff of junior mechanics. Based in Richmond, Virginia, Ace is a hydroseeding and erosion control company with over 20 years of experience in the industry, with projects that span the entire state of Virginia. We pride ourselves on providing superior customer service to all our commercial and residential customers. Qualified Candidates should possess the following qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience
  • Vocational training in diesel mechanics or equivalent experience.
  • Good communication and organizational skills
  • Attention to detail and record keeping.
  • Self-starter
  • Good time management skills
  • Able to manage a staff of 2-4 mechanics.
  • Ability to train junior mechanics and manage their schedules.
  • CDL preferred or the ability to obtain one.
  • Ability to use cell phone, computer and or tablet device.
  • Experience with Fleetio is a plus but not required.
  • Physically fit and able to lift 150 pounds.
  • ASE Certifications, AC, Engine repair, brakes, electrical, suspension/steering preferred not
  • required.
  • Full understanding of preventative maintenance requirements on all facets of vehicles and
  • equipment
  • Knowledge of DOT standards
  • State inspection license or experience as state inspector preferred not required.
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot systems such as electrical, air conditioning, power and
  • drivetrain.
  •  Ability to use computerized diagnostic equipment.
  • The ability to rebuild engines is a plus but not required.

Job responsibilities:

  • Performing and analyzing diagnostic tests on vehicles and equipment
  • Replacing vehicle engines, steering mechanisms, transmissions and braking systems
  • Checking and repairing vehicle lighting systems
  • Performing equipment and truck repairs on job sites as needed
  • Keeping vehicles and equipment current with DOT regulations and state inspections
  • Test driving vehicles and equipment to gauge performance
  • Performing preventative maintenance on service trucks and equipment
  • Adhering to an inspection procedure checklist
  • Maintaining a parts inventory
  • Ensuring mechanics shop stays safe, orderly and clean.
  • Ability to maintain a safe work environment for yourself and subordinates.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with various construction tasks such as Install and/or repairing various erosion control devices, including silt fence, silt fence outlets, temporary driveways, tree protection fence, seed & straw, and erosion control matting.
  • Assist in hydroseeding activities.
  • Follow instructions from supervisors and team members to complete assigned tasks.
  • Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations on the job site.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in construction or related field is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work well in a team environment.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn new skills.
  • Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor for extended periods of time.
  • Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions.
  • Drivers license and Reliable transportation is required.
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends and out of town.
